Liverpool hammered Porto 5-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Liverpool hero Jamie Carragher has taken to Twitter in order to react after the 5-0 Champions League win over Porto, hailing new signing Virgil van Dijk’s performance.
The Reds returned to European action on Wednesday night, travelling to Portugal to take on Porto in the last 16 of the Champions League, and Jurgen Klopp’s men already have one foot in the last eight.

Sadio Mane opened the scoring when his strike squirmed underneath Jose Sa, and Mohamed Salah made it 2-0 from close range before half time, with Sa again caught out for a Liverpool goal.
Mane got his second and Liverpool’s third, tapping home from close range after Roberto Firmino’s shot was saved, but Firmino grabbed the fourth from James Milner’s cut back, and Mane completed his hat-trick with a powerful long-range strike.
Liverpool are in a virtually unassailable position heading into the second leg at Anfield, and Klopp will not only be delighted that his vaunted attack of Firmino, Mane and Salah ran riot at the Estadio do Dragao, but also that his side kept a clean sheet.

After the final whistle, Liverpool hero Jamie Carragher took to Twitter to react to the performance, and claimed that January signing Virgil van Dijk was ‘a man amongst boys’ in a dominant defensive display.
Carragher noted that Mane was back to his best with a clinical display, praised Salah for a ‘Messi-esque’ goal, and also offered praise to forward Firmino for his performance in a resounding Liverpool victory.
