West Ham United picked up their first Premier League win of the season as they beat Everton at Goodison Park.

Jamie Carragher has taken to Twitter to comment on Everton’s defeat to West Ham on Sunday, with the retired defender praising the Hammers’ front three as well as two players from the Toffees’ ranks.
Heading into the contest at Goodison Park, it appeared that Marco Silva’s men would be heavy favourites with West Ham still awaiting their first point of the campaign.
But it was Manuel Pellegrini’s side who got off to a flyer, with Andriy Yarmolenko scoring twice in just over half an hour to give the Irons a 2-0 lead. Everton very much contributed to their own downfall with some sloppy play to give possession away on both occasions.
Gylfi Sigurdsson’s brilliant header in first-half stoppage-time would have left West Ham fans feeling extremely worried – especially when you consider their start to the campaign – but Marko Arnautovic largely ended any hope of a comeback with the visitors’ third around the hour-mark.

That would be the last goal and West Ham would lift themselves out of the bottom three, while Everton missed the chance to move into the top six.
And after the game, Carragher suggested on social media that he was particularly impressed with West Ham’s two goalscorers as well as Felipe Anderson, while Toffees full-backs Lucas Digne and Jonjoe Kenny also received praise for the problems that they caused down the flanks.

Here is what Carragher made of the game…
