Tottenham Hotspur thought they had claimed a huge win over West Ham United on Sunday, but ended up capitulating in quite remarkable circumstances.
Spurs were 3-0 up at half time as Son Heung-min’s first-minute strike was added to by a Harry Kane brace, with Tottenham in cruise control.
However, Fabian Balbuena, a Davinson Sanchez own goal and a stunning last-gasp Manuel Lanzini screamer gave West Ham a share of the spoils in a 3-3 draw.
What looked like being a procession turned into a nightmare for Spurs, and Jose Mourinho just now try to take the positives from the game, and one of them was the performance of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
The Dane was again outstanding in holding midfield, racking up 69 passes, one key pass, one tackle, three clearances and three aerial duels as his fine form continued.
Hojbjerg, a £15million summer signing from Southampton, struggled on the opening day of the campaign against Everton, but has turned in consistently impressive performances since.

During Sky Sports’ coverage of the game, Jamie Carragher commented in the 64th minute about Hojbjerg’s display, branding him ‘outstanding’ for weeks now, and it was the ‘same again’ on Sunday.
Carragher noted that Tottenham have generally improved since the opening day of the season, and Hojbjerg sums that up having proven how good he is since that Everton defeat.
“Hojbjerg, I thought he was a good signing when they brought him in,” said Carragher. “It’s still early days, but I spoke about the difference in this Tottenham team from the first game of the season against Everton, and he’s exactly the same. He was really poor on that day, but every time I’ve seen him since, he’s been outstanding – same again today,” he added.
