Everton are yet to lose a Premier League match in 2017.
Jamie Carragher has praised Ronald Koeman for solving Everton’s defensive problems this season on Sky Sports.
Everton’s leaky defence plagued them under Roberto Martinez’s stewardship and it ultimately cost the Spanish boss his job.
When Koeman first took over, Everton’s defensive issues did not appear to be totally solved.
The Toffees were criticised for having an ageing backline in the early stages of the season, when they were still guilty of gifting opposition teams chances.
However, Everton have been in excellent form over recent weeks, and Carragher believes that Koeman has found the solution now.
“Everton were still having problems defensively at the start of the season, as they have for a few seasons, but now they look more solid, and that’s down to the manager,” Carragher said.
“I think he’s been able to tweak a few things, change the system now and again.”
Everton are yet to lose a Premier League game in 2017, with their performances being highly impressive.
The Toffees beat Sunderland 2-0 in their most recent outing, and never looked threatened against David Moyes’ struggling side.
Everton are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane, in what will be a tough test for Koeman’s men.
