Leicester City are above Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal in the Premier League table at the moment.
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher said on the Monday Night Football show on Sky Sports 1 on Monday night that teams in the Premier League will eventually realise that Leicester City are not going to be easy to win against.
“Leicester are a team that, when you go a goal up, you need to hold on,” said former Liverpool defender Carragher. “You don’t go flying forward against ‘just Leicester’.
“Eventually teams will realise that, you can’t give space to the likes of Vardy and Mahrez. It comes down to a lack of respect. You have to start treating them with a bit more respect.”
Leicester have been the surprise package of the season so far and are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment.
The Foxes are above Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Chelsea, and they are enjoying a fairytale ride.
At the start of the season, Claudio Ranieri’s side were tipped to go down to the Championship, but they now appear to be pushing for a top-four finish, or at least a top-six sport.
It is unlikely that Leicester will remain at the top of the standings for long, as United, City and Arsenal all have better squads.
However, the Foxes should be shown respect for what they have achieved so far this season.
Under Ranieri, Leicester play good and attacking football, with the players showing no fear even against the best of opponents in the Premier League.
