Jamie Carragher has hailed Mohamed Salah after his ‘electric’ performance for Liverpool against Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.

City came into the game as hot favourites, especially with Erling Haaland seemingly unstoppable in the Premier League.

Add in Liverpool’s poor form this season and their inability to string consistent results together and few were backing the Reds.

This was a raucous Anfield atmosphere though and it seems to inspire Liverpool towards a victory.

Mohamed Salah grabbed the only goal of the game, turning Joao Cancelo in style before slotting past Ederson for the win.

This was another great advert for Premier League football with a physical, frantic back-and-forth game certainly entertaining the neutrals.

Salah had already been through on goal once but Ederson somehow managed to divert his effort wide of the post.

Salah wasn’t going to make the same mistake twice and finished with aplomb to give Liverpool all three points.

The Egyptian’s raw stats from Sunday don’t look all that impressive but he was one of the most energetic players on the pitch.

Salah looked bright from the first minute and was allowed to play through the middle rather than come in from the right flank.

This has been a mixed start to the season for Salah, who shared the Golden Boot with Son Heung-min last season but has struggled to score regularly in the opening weeks of the season.

Former Liverpool ace Jamie Carragher has now taken to Twitter to claim that Salah was ‘electric’ during Liverpool’s win.

Carragher noted that Salah deserved to win the Man of the Match award, which Gary Neville actually gave to Liverpool defender Joe Gomez on commentary.

Carragher was in no doubt that Salah was Liverpool’s main man and the Reds will now hope to see more electrifying displays moving forward.
