Jamie Carragher has focused the blame onto Jurgen Klopp and FSG (Fenway Sports Group) for failing to invest adequately into new signings, which has led to the ongoing demise of Liverpool, in the aftermath of the side’s 3-1 defeat to Brentford.
Often, Carragher has lauded Klopp for spearheading the Reds’ return to their glory days.
However, FSG seem to be the bane of every Liverpool supporter’s existence.
In all fairness, the ownership at the club are certainly to blame, considering they only made one marquee signing in Darwin Nunez for the summer.
With Jurgen Klopp himself admitting that he thought Liverpool did not need a new midfielder (via GOAL), several fans have slammed him for his short-sightedness.
In fact, a large group of supporters feel Klopp, alongside FSG is to blame for being blindly loyal to the current squad at their disposal.
One of the major points of criticism aimed at both parties by some is that they share a common lack of ambition to ensure the Merseyside-based side dominate on all fronts.
It seems one of the Reds’ most high-profile advocates seems to be livid with both the owners and the £307,000-a-week manager.
Jamie Carragher slams Jurgen Klopp and FSG after Brentford defeat

Jamie Carragher has slammed both Jurgen Klopp and FSG for failing to ensure Liverpool make a sufficient number of key signings in the market, which has led to their downfall, as the club tasted a 3-1 battering to Brentford.
“Liverpool’s transfer committee, and Jurgen Klopp, have been lauded more than any scouting network in world football. This is on them.
“One midfield player signed in 4 and a half years. They are running on fumes”, Carragher commented on Sky Sports, as relayed by Liverpool insider DaveOCKOP.
The Sky pundit is right in blaming FSG but not Klopp for lack of investement
Ultimately, it is common knowledge that most managers tend not to handle the transfer business, but the recruitment team does.
However, no decision is made without the owners giving it a thumbs up, which makes Jamie Carragher right in slating FSG.
The same cannot be said for Carragher being critical of Klopp, however.
If anything, the only facet the German coach can and perhaps should be questioned about is his on-pitch tactical solutions, or lack thereof.
