Klopp has been in charge of Liverpool for a year from Saturday, and Carragher is among those who hopes success is on the way.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has told the Liverpool Echo that he would hope a manager of Jurgen Klopp’s calibre will be able to end the Reds’ barren spell.
The Reds have won just the one trophy since 2006 – a League Cup in 2012 – while most of the focus has been on the side’s inability to win the league title since 1990.

Carragher told the Liverpool Echo: “In terms of winning a league or the cup, you look at the Leicester situation, sometimes it’s not just about what you do but what the other teams do.
“You could have a season, it could be this season, are we the best squad? Probably not but we’ve made a great start.
“In terms of Klopp over these next couple of seasons, he’s been to two cup finals and you hope a manager like that can bring us some trophies, it’s not easy, we’ve had a barren spell.”

Klopp came very close to getting his first piece of silverware with the Reds on two occasions last season after narrowly missing out on the League Cup to Manchester City on penalties, and losing the Europa League final after surrendering a one-goal half time lead to Sevilla in Basel.
The Reds appear to have put the disappointment of losing last season’s finals behind them and have started the Premier League season in fine form – with the club sitting in fourth place, and just two points behind leaders Manchester City. They have also brushed aside both the opponents from the Championship in the EFL Cup to set up a fourth round tie at home to Tottenham in that competition.
English football is certainly very competitive and there are going to be a number of teams who feel they can put some silverware in the cabinet – including the two Manchester clubs, Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea among others.
It seems to be a difficult era to win honours in, so multiple trophies during this era would be some feat for the Reds.
