Tottenham Hotspur were beaten 2-1 by Liverpool in EFL Cup action last night.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has fired back at Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino’s claims that Trent Alexander-Arnold should have been sent off in the EFL Cup last night.
Alexander-Arnold was handed his senior debut for Liverpool at Anfield yesterday, but his youthful exuberance was on full display early on in the contest.

The 18-year-old charged into a tackle on Ben Davies, and picked up a yellow card for the foul.
Pochettino felt that the youngster got off lightly for the tackle, and claimed after the match that the full-back should have been banished from the field.
However, Carragher feels that the Spurs boss’s comments were harsh and hit back on social media site Twitter.
Alexander-Arnold largely impressed on his debut last night, as he helped Liverpool to a 2-1 win over Spurs.
The Reds scored both their goals through Daniel Sturridge, and even though Vincent Janssen pulled one back for Spurs late on, it was not enough.
Liverpool will find out who they will meet in the quarter-finals, when the draw takes place later this evening.
