Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool will face off in the Champions League final next weekend.

Jamie Carragher looks on before the UEFA Champions League group H match between Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid at Wembley Stadium on November 1, 2017 in London, United Kingdom.

Jamie Carragher sat down for an exclusive interview with the Anfield Wrap, and suggested that the long break between the end of the Premier League campaign and the Champions League final will suit Tottenham more than Liverpool.

The Reds head into the game in Madrid as slight favourites, but Spurs will be confident in the fact that on their day, they are capable of beating anybody.

Liverpool just missed out on the Premier League title by a single point, finishing two places and 26 points clear of fourth placed Tottenham, but in a one-off final, it should be a fairly evenly matched contest.

Despite the fact that the Merseyside outfit are being heavily tipped to win the game, Carragher told the Anfield Wrap how he believes the north London club actually have an advantage heading into the match:

“No-one’s been able to give me a reason why the Champions League is three weeks after the league campaign. It’s normally two weeks, where you have the FA Cup then the week after is the Champions League. I think it probably helps Spurs more than us, I would say. I think they’ve got bigger injury problems than us, certainly with Harry Kane, Harry Winks, other little knocks they had towards the end of the season. It gives you an extra week to be fit.”

In spite of Carragher’s comments, Liverpool are one of Europe’s best teams, and Tottenham will have their work cut-out if they are to stop Klopp’s men in Madrid next Saturday.

Spurs must take the game to the Reds, if they are to have any chance of winning, and Mauricio Pochettino’s side have more than proven over the past few years that they are well capable of mixing it with the very best.
