Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has suggested on social networking site Twitter that Everton should make Ryan Giggs their manager for the rest of the season.

Everton have parted company with Ronald Koeman following a disappointing start to the season.

The Toffees are struggling in the Europa League and are also currently in the Premier League bottom three.

Former Liverpool defender Carragher has suggested on Twitter that the Toffees should hand Giggs – one of the greatest footballers in Manchester United history – the managerial role until the end of the season.

Is Carragher serious? Probably not. The Liverpool legend’s comments are actually a reminder of a joke back during the 2013-14 season.

As reported by The Dundee Evening Telegraph, back in 2013-14, Manchester United fan Andy Tate said that the club should sack David Moyes and hand the managerial role to Giggs until the end of the season.

United did exactly that, although it was probably not because it was suggested by a fan.

Could Everton appoint Giggs? Who knows, anything is possible in football, absolutely anything…
