Wolverhampton Wanderers have really impressed in the Premier League this season.
Jamie Carragher shared his belief that it will be incredibly hard for Wolves to force their way into the top six of the Premier League table over the next few years, when speaking during last night’s broadcast of Monday Night Football on Sky Sports, at 19:11.
The Black Country outfit currently sit in seventh spot in the table, two points clear of eighth placed Watford, but they are a huge 11 points adrift of sixth placed Chelsea.
Nuno Espirito Santo has done an incredible job at Wolves since taking over at Molineux in the summer of 2017, and after spending heavily in the summer, they really do look like a top class outfit this season.
The club’s owners are incredibly ambitious, and according to the Times, they believe they can win the Premier League title within seven years.
Carragher isn’t so sure, however.
The Sky Sports pundit explained how Wolves have their work cut-out if they are to even achieve a top six spot, when speaking on Monday Night Football last night at 19:11:
“There’s nothing wrong with having that hope and ambition to try and get there, but I’ve seen so many teams over the years throw money at it and get nowhere near it, Everton are one of them, Aston Villa a few years back, and West Ham, and unless you’ve got Chelsea or Man City type of dough, you’ve got no chance.”
In spite of Carragher’s words, Wolves will firmly believe that they can crack the top six next season, and should they spend heavily again in the summer, they will have every chance of doing just that.
