Jamie Carragher has gushed over the ‘frightening’ Mo Salah after he helped Liverpool trash Porto 5-1 in the Champions League on Tuesday night, as he told CBS Sports on Paramount+ (28/09/21 at 10:45 pm).
Is there a better player in-form than Liverpool’s Egyptian speedster, right now?
If there’s anyone, then the list will probably have one name on it because Salah is hitting the form of his life and has to be regarded as one of, if not, the best player in the world, right now.
The 29-year-old, after his brace in Portugal last night, has now scored eight goals from eight matches in all competitions this season (transfermarkt).
There is only one game that Salah has failed to score in during this campaign and that was his side’s 2-0 win over Burnley in August.
Nonetheless, Carragher was full of praise for Liverpool’s left-footed king, after the demolition job at the Estadio do Dragao.
“Mo Salah, I mean we know how great of a goalscorer he is,” said Carragher. “But the form he is in is frightening, at the minute.
“Sadio Mane, at times, has blown a little bit hot and cold, so it’s really nice for him to get back on the scoresheet.
“But Salah, I think he’s very close to breaking Steven Gerrard’s record in Europe. I think that will be broken in the next couple of games, you would imagine.”

The biggest test of Liverpool’s season awaits them at the weekend because they welcome the Premier League champions to Anfield.
Whilst Klopp’s men were producing a five-star performance in Southern Europe, towards the West region, Manchester City suffered a 2-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
From one left-footed magician in Salah to another in Lionel Messi, who scored his first goal for PSG since moving to the club.
