Following Everton’s win against Southampton last night, Jamie Carragher said on Sky Sports that Carlo Ancelotti’s side may not finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.

Everton got the better of Southampton 1-0 at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Monday evening.

Richarlison’s goal in the ninth minute proved to be the difference between the two sides.

The win means that the Toffees are now seventh in the Premier League table with 43 points from 25 matches.

Everton are just two points behind fourth-placed West Ham United, who have played 26 games.

Former Liverpool defender Carragher, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, believes that Everton may fall short of finishing in the top four.

The Englishman added that if the Toffees do end up in the Champions League places, then it will be because of their manager Ancelotti, as shown below in the clip.

Carragher said on Sky Sports: “I think they may just fall short.”

Everton fans should be optimistic

This is turning out to be a crazy season, and anything is possible. After all, if Everton win their game in hand, then they will actually be in the top four.

Of course, there is a lot of football to be played, but Everton fans should be confident of the team playing in the Champions League next season.
