Jamie Carragher has praised Arsenal playmaker Martin Odegaard after watching him in action against Southampton at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Friday evening.
The former Liverpool defender said on Sky Sports Premier League (10:46pm, April 21, 2023) that Odegaard, 24, has been fantastic all season for Liverpool.
The former Real Madrid attacking midfielder scored one of the goals for Arsenal in the 3-3 draw with Southampton in North London.
Odegaard was also the Arsenal player who was making things happen – or at least trying to – for the home team in the final 10 or so minutes of the game.

Carragher said about Odegaard: “He has been fantastic all season. He has been one of the top players in the Premier League this season.”

In our view, Martin Odegaard is one of the best playmakers in the Premier League and is a key figure for Arsenal.
The 24-year-old is a leader in the middle of the park for the Gunners and has been superb all season.
Arsenal are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment.
For the Gunners to maintain their position until the end of the season and to win the league title ahead of defending champions Manchester City, Odegaard will have to be on top of his game.
The playmaker has scored 12 goals and given seven assists in 31 Premier League matches for Arsenal so far this season.
