Tottenham Hotspur have been touted as a potential destination for Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge.
Jamie Carragher has suggested on NewsWeek that Daniel Sturridge would have the quality to represent Tottenham Hotspur.
Sturridge’s future at Liverpool appears very uncertain, with the England international expected to move on in the summer.
Spurs has been suggested as a potential club for Sturridge in the future, and Carragher feels that if the 27-year-old could stay off the treatment table, he would be a good addition at White Hart Lane.
“If you’re going to play week in week out, it may have to be a level down,” Carragher said, when asked whether Sturridge would make a good signing for Spurs.
“But he certainly has the quality to play for [a club like] Tottenham, there’s no doubt about that. It’s whether he’s got the injury record and then you’ve got [Dele] Alli and [Harry] Kane, which isn’t a bad front two.”
Sturridge has found it difficult to hold down a place in Liverpool’s team this season, with injury problems still plaguing him.
Sturridge has started just five Premier League matches for the Reds, and only found the back of the net twice.
Tottenham are believed to be on the look out for a new striker, but whether Sturridge features on Mauricio Pochettino’s wishlist remains to be seen.
If Sturridge was to move to Spurs, he would be competing with the likes of Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son and Vincent Janssen for a place in the Lilywhites’ starting line-up.
