Jamie Carragher has told Sky Sports that he disagreed with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp’s decision to take Naby Keita off during the Merseyside derby.
Keita was taken off just after the hour mark in Liverpool’s 0-0 draw with Everton, with Georginio Wijnaldum replacing him.
But Carragher felt that the Guinean international should have been kept on, as he looked like Liverpool’s brightest creative spark.
“I must say I would have liked to see Keita stay on,” Carragher said.
“He was the one in the midfield who looked like he could drive forward and do something a little bit different.”
Liverpool were not at their best last night, but Keita’s display was one source of encouragement.

The 25-year-old has struggled since moving to Anfield, but is now fully fit, and there are hopes that he could improve Liverpool’s starting line-up.
For all their qualities, there is a feeling that Liverpool could be an even stronger team if they add more creativity in midfield, and Keita looks like their best option to do that in their current squad.
Although Keita was unable to help his side make the breakthrough last night, his dribbling skill was clear to see.
The task for Keita now will be to start fit, as he surely has a good chance of starting again in midweek, when Liverpool take on Crystal Palace.
