Newcastle United signed Miguel Almiron for a club record fee yesterday.

Carragher admits that Newcastle will have to wait and see whether Almiron will be able to cope in English football.
But he feels that the addition of the Paraguayan will benefit Rafael Benitez’s side massively.
“We know Rafa Benitez can organise Newcastle but as a coach you can’t really coach that quality they need in the final third,” Carragher said.
“You can work on it and improve it but sometimes it’s just about spending money and getting that quality in. It remains to be seen whether he is good enough for the Premier League but it will give everyone a lift.
“The fact Rafa has waited so long shows he has been scouted really well and it’s just whether he can settle and make an impact before now and the end of the season.
“It’s not so much the player, it’s the impact it will have on the supporters going into games. It will give everyone at the club a lift. Hopefully Almiron will get some excitement back to Newcastle.”

Benitez has already admitted that he is happier at Newcastle now that Almiron is involved.
The Magpies finally broke their long-standing transfer record to bring the playmaker to St. James’ Park, with the excitement building for his debut.
Almiron has suggested that he is ready to feature for Newcastle straight away, but whether Benitez will throw him in at the deep end remains to be seen.
Newcastle are in action tomorrow, when they take on Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley, but Almiron is ineligible for that game as he awaits a work permit.
