Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are both comfortably inside the top four.

When speaking to Sky Sports News on Monday April 3rd, Liverpool legend and now Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher highlighted a major difference between his former club and Spurs, explaining why Mauricio Pochettino’s side have the edge over Jürgen Klopp’s men.
Tottenham currently sit in second position in the table, three points clear of third placed Liverpool, with a game in hand over the Reds.
And whilst the Merseyside outfit have been arguably the Premier League’s most exiting team to watch going forward, they have once again proven to be fragile in the defensive department – an area where Spurs have flourished.
And Carragher pinpointed three specific Tottenham stars who have made the difference for their club this season, when speaking to Sky Sports News, explaining how they have given the north London side the edge over his former club in the title race:

“If Liverpool can fix their defence then it does give them a great chance going forward over the next few years. That’s what the difference between Liverpool and Tottenham is. That’s why Spurs have the edge on Liverpool – not because they’ve got Dele Alli or Harry Kane, because Liverpool get goals. It’s because they’ve got Hugo Lloris, Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld.”
There is obviously still a long way to go in this season’s title race, but Liverpool could very well have a huge advantage on the rest of the clubs battling it out for the Champions League spots.
From their remaining eight games they only have two fixtures against sides currently inside the top half of the table – Watford and West Bromwich Albion.
Whilst Spurs still have games against Manchester United and Arsenal still to come. They also have a London Derby against West ham United on the horizon.
It is still all to play for, and despite Tottenham’s current advantage over Liverpool, the Reds cannot be ruled out just yet.
