Tottenham Hotspur are currently in second place in the Premier League table.
Jamie Carragher has told Sky Sports Monday Night Football Special, which was broadcast on 17th January, that Tottenham Hotspur have a ‘great chance’ of winning the Premier League this season.
Although Carragher admits that Chelsea have now become the big favourites, the former Liverpool man does not believe it is a forgone conclusion that Antonio Conte’s side will finish at the top of the table.
And Carragher argues that Spurs have as good a chance as anyone of catching Chelsea and winning their first ever Premier League title.
“Great chance,” Carragher said, when asked about Spurs’ title credentials. “From the contenders, Chelsea are big favourites, but they have a great chance.”
Tottenham are currently Chelsea’s closest rivals in the Premier League table, as Mauricio Pochettino’s side occupy second place.
Spurs are seven points behind the Blues, after a fine run of form has kept the pressure on.
Tottenham beat Chelsea 2-0 at White Hart Lane recently, to ensure that they stayed in contention.
Spurs are next in action at the weekend when they take on Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, meanwhile Chelsea host Hull City.
