Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose’s recent comments were quite controversial.
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has criticised Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose on Sky Sports.
The former Liverpool defender has claimed that it was disrespectful of Rose to state that he does not want Tottenham to sign players whose names have to be googled.
In a recent interview with The Sun, the England international left-back said that Spurs need to sign two or three very good players.
“I am not saying buy ten players, I’d love to see two or three — and not players you have to Google and say, ‘Who’s that?’ I mean well-known players,” Rose told The Sun.
Liverpool legend Carragher has criticised Rose for those comments and told Sky Sports: “The worst thing he said was in terms of ‘I don’t want Tottenham to look for players we have to Google’.
“How disrespectful that is to maybe some of the players in there. When he went there as a youngster from Leeds, I bet Robbie Keane or Berbatov had to Google him.”
Rose is one of the best left-backs in the Premier League, and since he has apologised for his comments, maybe it is time to move on.
The England international is injured at the moment, but when he is fit, the 27-year-old is one of the best left-backs in the Premier League.
Spurs finished second in the Premier League last season and will be aiming to challenge for the league title again this campaign.
