Jamie Carragher has hit out at Richarlison for going to too easily during Everton’s 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday at Goodison Park.

Sky Sports pundit Carragher felt that ‘every time’ Richarlison came into contract with a Spurs player, he was seemingly throwing himself to the ground.

One incident he pointed towards was when he came into contact with Spurs defender Davinson Sanchez, as the Everton man ended up on the floor holding his face.

Speaking to Sky Sports Premier League during commentary (03/11/2019), Carragher was unimpressed with Richarlison’s actions.

“He’s got to get up,” Carragher told Sky Sports. “On the floor too much Richarlison. Every time the ball comes to him and he’s in contact with someone, he ends up on the floor.

“It wasn’t a great pass into him [from Delph], he’s [Richarlison] trying to turn away from [Sanchez]. He’s just holding his ground, Sanchez. But then holding his face [after going to ground]. No, get up and get on with the game.”

During the game, Richarlison could have argued that he should have been awarded a penalty, with VAR once again making the headlines for the wrong reasons.

VAR was near-on checking every decision, which wasn’t impressing the supporters, the officials took an absolute age to check whether Everton should have been awarded a penalty after a handball by Dele Alli.

In the end, the game was unfortunately marred by a horror injury suffered by Andre Gomes, who is set to have surgery on his ankle on Monday.
