Jamie Carragher feels that Tottenham Hotspur’s Kieran Trippier is the best crosser of a ball in the Premier League.

Jamie Carragher has said on Sky Sports that Tottenham Hotspur’s Kieran Trippier is the best crosser of a football in the Premier League.
In an attacking sense, few can get close to the former Burnley right-back, who has seven assists in all competitions for Tottenham this season – four in the league.

In-form Manchester City attacker Kevin De Bruyne has set up two more goals than him, and Carragher says that the Belgian star is second only to the Spurs defender when it comes to delivery from out wide.
“By moving five or 10 yards to the right he’s [De Bruyne] in a crossing position and there’s no better crosser of a ball in the Premier League, perhaps with the exception of Kieran Trippier at Tottenham,” he told Sky Sports.
According to Opta, however, that isn’t the case.

| Position | Team | Accurate Cross | Total Cross | Appearances | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kevin De Bruyne | MF | Man City | 23 | 71 | 12 | 1,020 |
| Kieran Trippier | DF | Tottenham | 7 | 44 | 9 | 723 |
De Bruyne has managed 23 accurate crosses from an attempted 77 – or 32% success rate – while Trippier has only managed to complete seven crosses from an attempted 44 deliveries – or 15% – but the latter has played 279 less minutes than the Belgium international.
Even still, few would argue that the Tottenham ace isn’t an exceptional crosser of the ball and nine assists from his last 21 Premier League games illustrate as much.
