Liverpool are out of the FA Cup having been beaten 3-2 by rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The Reds did take the lead through Mohamed Salah, but Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford turned the game on its head.

Salah hauled Liverpool level, but Bruno Fernandes curled home a free kick to give United the win, sending them through to the fifth round.

Liverpool’s worrying recent form continues, and if it isn’t scoring the goals then it’s defensive concerns that are cause major panic at Anfield.

On Sunday, Jurgen Klopp put his faith in youngster Rhys Williams at centre back, pairing him up with Fabinho in the heart of defence.

The 19-year-old endured a difficult game, making a couple of errors; most notably a missed clearance that resulted in Rashford scoring.

Some Liverpool fans have been slamming Williams, seemingly forgetting that the teenager was playing non-league football with Kidderminster last season.

Jamie Carragher has taken to Twitter to defend Williams, suggesting that he was ‘left alone and exposed’ far too often against United, believing that he doesn’t deserve such huge criticism.
