Everton fans have undoubtedly been impressed by the early form of new signing Idrissa Gana Gueye.
The Senegal midfielder has been a revelation since his move to Everton from Aston Villa – turning his impressive statistics at Villa last term into an integral cog in the Everton system.
He was the standout performer for Everton against Sunderland on Monday night – despite Romelu Lukaku’s hat-trick and Yannick Bolasie’s wing wizardry.
One man clearly impressed was former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher.
Writing in his column for the Daily Mail Carragher made it clear that he felt that Gueye may be one of the bargains of the season.

He stated:
“We have seen some extraordinary transfer fees this summer but Gueye only cost Everton £7.1million when he left Aston Villa.
“Should he continue like this, that will be a bargain.”
Everton will no doubt be keen for Gueye to continue his current form.
He has proved an upgrade at the moment on James McCarthy, whose form has deserted him over the past 18 months at the club.
His energy and ball-winning ability is undoubtedly proving a hit at Goodison Park and the side are reaping the rewards of his hard work at present.
Everton fans will be hoping he puts in another top performance v Middlesbrough this evening.
