Everton paid £45 million to sign Gyfli Sigurdsson from Swansea City.

Everton spent £45 million (Telegraph) to bring the Icelandic international to Goodison Park from Swansea City, and he has so far struggled to live up to his price-tag.
Sigurdsson is still searching for his first Premier League goal in an Everton shirt, with his form falling short of expectations.

And Carragher believes that Sigurdsson was just one of a number of questionable pieces of business that Everton did during the previous transfer window.
“I was amazed the club paid so much for Gylfi Sigurdsson but to be fair to him the lack of a top-class striker has impacted on his assists tally,” Carragher said.
“He needs to get his act together for the new manager. Davy Klaassen has found the adjustment to English football too difficult. Koeman’s exit will impact on these players. They will all be wondering if the next man sees their future at Everton.
“Sandro Ramirez has proven to be too raw to start regularly. “They signed Henry Onyekuru from Kas Eupen and immediately loaned him to Anderlecht.”

Everton’s poor summer transfer window has led to huge complications at Goodison Park, and he has ultimately cost Ronald Koeman his job.
The Toffees appear to have problems both in an attacking and a defensive sense, with their form awful.
Everton have failed to win any of their last five matches across all competitions, and are struggling in both the Europa League and the Premier League.
Everton currently have David Unsworth in temporary charge, as they search for a new manager to take them forward.
