Tottenham Hotspur were beaten 2-0 by Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Mauricio Pochettino sent his Spurs side out to harry and rush Arsenal, but it left them outnumbered at the back on occasion.
Spurs were often caught with their midfield too high up the pitch, as Arsenal put them to the sword.
And Carragher said: “There’s no doubt the intentions to press and get after Arsenal. They were too weak and meek against United, and you could see in the early stages of the game people were pressing high.

“But the problem was that this became three v three with their aggression. It was often three Arsenal attackers on three defenders.
“Because they had gone to press, as they were pushing out, it’s still three v three. You’re asking for trouble going that aggressive away from home against Arsenal.”
Arsenal ended up winning the match 2-0, with goals from Shkodran Mustafi and Alexis Sanchez providing them with the points.

Mustafi first headed home from a set-piece, before Sanchez blasted in from close range.
Spurs, in truth, failed to show their best at the Emirates Stadium, with Arsenal’s front three causing them a great deal of problems.
Arsenal are now just one point behind Tottenham in the Premier League table, with Pochettino’s side coming under increasing pressure.
Tottenham are next in action this evening, when they take on Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
