Jamie Carragher would love Liverpool to be able to sign Manchester United’s David De Gea.
Jamie Carragher has told Sky Sports Facebook page that if he could pick any player in the Premier League to bring to Liverpool it would be Manchester United’s David De Gea.
Carragher was stinging in his criticism of current Liverpool number one Loris Karius, after the German’s shaky start to life in English football.
And Carragher admits that if there was one player who Liverpool need right now it is United’s goalkeeper.
“De Gea,” Carragher replied, when asked who he would sign if he could buy any Premier League player for Liverpool. “Because I think he’s been the best goalkeeper.”
De Gea actually hasn’t had a totally error-free season so far himself, but he is still regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in world football.
Karius, meanwhile, faces huge questions over his future as Liverpool’s first choice stopper now.
The 23-year-old made a costly mistake against Bournemouth in Liverpool’s last match, which they lost 4-3, and there are now calls for Simon Mignolet to be reinstated.
After losing against Bournemouth, Liverpool have slipped down to third place in the Premier League table, with their next match coming against West Ham United.
