Liverpool travel to Goodison Park to take on Everton in the Merseyside derby on Monday.
Former Liverpool star Jamie Carragher has told Sky Sports that the Reds must look to control the referee in the upcoming Merseyside derby with Everton.
The Reds travel to Goodison Park on Monday for this season’s first meeting between the two sides.
They do not have a strong recent record at their rival’s home ground, having gone four games without a win at the stadium in all competitions.

They head into this game full of confidence, though, with Jurgen Klopp and his men second in the table after an impressive first half of the campaign.
And Carragher, a veteran of 30 Merseyside derbies, says they must look to control the referee if they are to enjoy success in this encounter.
“The crowd is fantastic – really close to the pitch – and while Liverpool fans get criticised for hounding referees for penalties, I can tell you they go for the referee at Goodison,” Carragher told Sky Sports.
“As a Liverpool player, I always think you’ve got to try to control the referee at Goodison and I think that was your job. It’s a very hostile crowd.”

This Merseyside derby is certainly shaping up to be an exciting one, to say the least.
While Liverpool will be favourites, Everton cannot be discounted entirely even with their disappointing form of late.
The 2-1 win over Arsenal in midweek will have filled them with confidence and if they can play against their rivals as they did against the Gunners, a win could be on the cards.
