The young Glasgow Rangers midfielder has agreed a new contract at Ibrox.
Young Rangers midfielder Jamie Barjonas has been speaking to the club’s official television station after putting pen to paper on a new deal.
The 18-year-old got his breakthrough at Ibrox last season, featuring four times at the end of the campaign before getting a couple of chances off the bench this time round.
Speaking about the club’s senior stars, Barjonas told Rangers TV, “I can feel myself improving every day and I am delighted to be training with them every day. To get into squads and then to get on to the pitch is an add-on and it’s great.
“Playing with players such as Ryan Jack, Jason Holt and Graham Dorrans – they have had a lot of experience, like Graeme who has played in the Premier League.”
The future looks extremely bright for Barjonas, who will be hoping to become part of the Rangers team of the future alongside the likes of David Bates and Ross McCrorie. But for now it is all about developing his game and ensuring he has all the tools necessary when he is tasked with starting for the Gers on a regular basis.
While Jack and Dorrans have impressed since their summer switches, Holt has had to wait patiently for his chances, impressing since Graeme Murty took caretaker charge at the club.
As much as Barjonas is impressed by Rangers’ first-team regulars, they will know that if they do not perform well enough, there is some real talent waiting in the wings.
