The Glasgow Rangers teenager was delighted to make his first-team bow.
Rangers youngster Jamie Barjonas has been speaking to the club’s official television channel following his first-team debut.
The 18-year-old came off the bench for the last 19 minutes of the 2-1 victory against Partick Thistle on Sunday with the Gers scoring both their goals after the teenager took to the field.
The midfielder became the latest Gers youngster to get a taste of senior action under new manager Pedro Caixinha, and he could not hide his joy after the final whistle.
“I’ve got another year on my contract so hopefully I can push on and get as much first-team game time as I can because that was class,” he told Rangers TV. “I want a lot more of that.”
If he fulfils his undoubted potential Barjonas should build on this outing sooner rather than later, and it will be interesting to see how next season plays out in terms of Rangers’ next generation when you consider the likelihood of wholesale changes via the transfer window.
As Barjonas says, he has one year remaining on his current contract and the next 12 months are likely to be vital as he attempts to secure a fresh deal.
Having been at Ibrox since he was 10, something suggests he is not going to let go of this particular dream.
