The Saints midfielder has promised to ‘bounce back stronger’ after being ruled out for 10 weeks with a fractured foot.
James Ward-Prowse has taken to Twitter to thank fans for their support after receiving the crushing news that he will miss 10 weeks with a fractured foot.
The 19-year-old came off injured during the second half of Southampton’s 1-0 win at Swansea City last weekend, later receiving the news that the problem was one of a serious nature.
Ward-Prowse, however, has delivered a positive update on social media this morning.
Indeed, the midfielder has thanked his ‘amazing’ supporters and promised to work hard to ‘bounce back stronger,’ while posting a picture of himself smiling on crutches and with a protective brace on his injured foot.
The Saints are currently second in the Premier League after a terrific start to the campaign under new boss Ronald Koeman.
Southampton narrowly lost their first game at Anfield after being beaten 2-1 by Liverpool but have gone unbeaten since, winning three games and drawing once.

As Opta stats show, 19-year-old Ward-Prowse will be missed, as his two assists and nine chances created so far this term is the second-highest tally within Koeman’s squad.
Indeed, only Dusan Tadic has created more chances, having played 80 minutes more than the England Under-21 midfielder.
Southampton will look to continue their strong form when they host Queens Park Rangers at St Mary’s this Saturday at 3pm.
