Is James Tavernier fit for Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers today?

Steven Gerrard revealed on Friday that Rangers defender James Tavernier was an injury concern for this afternoon’s visit of Aberdeen [Twitter].

Gerrard intimated that the Rangers captain may have to sit out the visit of Derek McInnes’s side.

But it looks like Tavernier might be fit after all – maybe.

The 27-year-old posted a photo of himself on Twitter accompanied by a blue heart, and fans of the Ibrox club have interpreted it to mean that he’s available against the Dons.

It’s a big game for the Gers and one that Tavernier will want to play in.

If Gerrard’s side lose or even draw then it will confirm Celtic as Scottish Premiership champions for an eighth game in a row.

Even victory for the light Blues would be just delaying the inevitable, but Aberdeen have knocked Rangers out of both domestic cup competitions this season, so the prospect of revenge will be added motivation for them.
