Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers have not won away from home in the Scottish Premiership so far this season.
Rangers defender James Tavernier
Rangers defender James Tavernier has told The Herald that the Ibrox club’s away form is not an issue.
Tavernier – who has been on the books of Rangers since the summer of 2015 when he moved from Wigan Athletic for a transfer fee reported by The Scottish Sun to be worth £200,000 – made the comments following Steven Gerrard’s side’s 1-0 defeat to Livingston away from home in the Scottish Premiership this past Sunday.
The result means that the Gers have yet to win away from home in the Scottish Premiership this season.
The 26-year-old former Newcastle United right-back, though, does not believe that Rangers have any issue on the road and is defiant on the matter.
Tavernier told The Herald about Rangers’ away form: “I wouldn’t say there is an issue. We got a positive result away to Villarreal and we were unlucky not to win it out there.
“Aberdeen was an unfortunate one because they conceded right at the end with 10 men. I don’t think the issue is playing away.
“I think the issues on Sunday were that we weren’t clinical in the final third, we didn’t create enough and we didn’t test the keeper enough.”

Improvement needed
According to The Scottish Sun, Rangers have dropped 10 points on the road so far this season – their worst start in the league away from home in 29 years.
While it is too early to panic, but it is clear that Gerrard’s team do need to improve on their away record and have to start winning matches away from home if they are to challenge for the Scottish Premiership title this season.
