Rangers defender James Tavernier has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to his side’s draw with FC Porto.

Steven Gerrard’s side played out a 1-1 draw with Porto away from home in Portugal in the Europa League Group G on Thursday evening.

Luis Diaz put the Portuguese giants in the lead in the 36th minute, and Alfredo Morelos restored parity on 44 minutes.

Rangers right-back Tavernier – who has been criticised by some Gers fans in recent weeks, especially after his mistakes against Young Boys in the Europa League earlier this month – is delighted with his side’s win against Porto.

Europa League progress

The draw with Porto in Portugal is a big result for Rangers and has enhanced their chances of progressing to the knockout rounds of the Europa League.

Rangers are second in Europa League Group G at the moment with four points from three matches, two points behind leaders Young Boys.

The Gers will return to action on Sunday afternoon when they take on Motherwell at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership.
