Glasgow Rangers bagged their first win of the new Scottish Premiership campaign, running out 2-0 victors at Ibrox.

James Tavernier has taken to Twitter to laud the Rangers fans and express his delight for Connor Goldson after Steven Gerrard’s side bagged their first win of the new Scottish Premiership campaign with a 2-0 victory on Sunday.
The Gers looked set to mark the opening day of the domestic season by bagging three points last week, but a stoppage-time equaliser meant that they had to settle for a spirited draw having played the majority of the game with 10 men.
Unfortunately for Gerrard’s side, they had to once again play most of their most recent contest one man short after Ross McCrorie was dismissed after half an hour at Ibrox, but the Gers, by that stage, had a 2-0 lead.
Alfredo Morelos broke the deadlock to continue his impressive run, and Goldson doubled that lead as he headed home from a Borna Barisic free-kick. The win moves Rangers up to third after two games and keeps their momentum in tact heading into Thursday’s rematch with Maribor.

And after the win, Tavernier took to social media to comment on the win, the atmosphere and Goldson’s goal. The Gers skipper began the game on the bench and was only brought on with just under half an hour to go as Gerrard handed Barisic his debut and moved Jon Flanagan across to right-back.
But Tavernier’s tweet did not give off the slightest hint that he may be at all frustrated by the decision, and that is perhaps an example of the positivity and optimism that seems to be lingering around Ibrox right now.

Here is what Tavernier posted following the win…
