Tavernier impressed as Rangers knocked Maribor out of the Europa League.

James Tavernier is likely to worry Rangers fans on Instagram after posting a picture of his upper left leg in plenty of strapping and ice, following the Gers’ 0-0 draw with Maribor.
Rangers secured their place in the Europa League play-off round after nullifying Slovenian outfit Maribor, with Allan McGregor saving a penalty in injury time. The Gers’ first-leg 3-1 win was enough to take them through.
The likes of Tavernier, Ryan Jack and Alfredo Morelos were all excellent as Steven Gerrard masterminded an excellent, warrior-like performance against a side that reached the Champions League last season.
Tavernier, 27, posted on Instagram the caption: “Some shift from the boys”, but fans will be concerned whether Tavernier has picked up an injury as he posted a huge amount of strapping on his left quadricep.

Rangers continued their unbeaten start under Gerrard, with Rangers now winning four and drawing four – with three of those draws coming in Europe as well as a 1-1 tie with Aberdeen despite having 10 men.
The Gers will now face Russian side FC Ufa in the Europa League play-off round, after they beat Progres Niederkorn in the third round of qualifying.
Rangers attention will turn to Sunday, though, as they face a difficult trip to Rugby Park to face Kilmarnock and fans will be hoping that captain Tavernier will be fit to play.
