Glasgow Rangers lost to the Edinburgh side at Ibrox on Saturday – and James Tavernier has blamed himself for the result.

James Tavernier has apologised to Rangers fans on Twitter after his error in Saturday’s 2-1 defeat by Hibernian at Ibrox.
Jamie Maclaren grabbed a 75th-minute winner from the penalty spot just moments after Sean Goss had cancelled out John McGinn’s opener before the half-time break.
It was Tavernier’s clumsy barge on Scott Allan which saw Rangers concede the penalty in the first place, and it proved a costly error by the usually-reliable defender.

The former Wigan Athletic right-back has arguably been the Gers’ most consistent player throughout the season, and the 26-year-old has suggested on Twitter that he has let everyone down.
Needless to say that Tavernier was reassured by compassionate fans on Twitter, many of whom intimated that one mistake doesn’t cancel out all the positive work he has done this season.

Tavernier, signed by Mark Warburton in 2015, has come on leaps and bounds in comparison to last season and it’s no surprise to see the Rangers fans in a forgiving mood.
He has been outstanding for much of the campaign, culminating in transfer speculation about a move to Sunderland in January which never materialised.
