Glasgow Rangers defender James Tavernier is enjoying working with Steven Gerrard at the Ibrox club.

Rangers defender James Tavernier has been linked with moves away from Ibrox in the summer transfer window, with Everton and Swansea City among the clubs reportedly interested in the former Newcastle United right-back.
Tavernier is one of the best right-back in the Scottish Premiership, and the 26-year-old’s performances for Rangers last season were superb.

The Daily Mail (Transfer Live blog, 14:29pm, June 18, 2018) has claimed that Rangers could consider selling the right-back for a transfer fee of £3 million (click here to read more).

However, Tavernier’s latest comments suggest that he has no plan to leave to leave the Gers, and that he wants to carry on working with new Rangers manager Steven Gerrard.
The 26-year-old right-back has spoken of his delight at working with Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, and it is clear that he is in awe of the former England international and wants to stay at Ibrox next season.

Tavernier told Rangers’ official website: “I have always said I have unfinished business here and I signed a new contract six months ago.
“I knew the club were searching for a new manager and you heard the rumours but when it was confirmed that the gaffer got the job it was great news to hear, you got excited.”
“Most of the time it still feels strange he is my manager,” added Tavernier. “When he strikes a ball with so much ease, stuff like that is a little bit surreal!
“I know he is the gaffer now and you do get those little moments when you find yourself going ‘That’s Steven Gerrard over there’.”
