Liverpool’s Ryan Kent thrived during his season-long loan spell at Rangers last season.

Rangers defender James Tavernier has boldly claimed that his team can cope without Liverpool’s Ryan Kent this summer following a recent development about his future.

On Monday, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp made it clear that Rangers will only be able to secure the services of winger Kent if they can buy him this summer, as quoted by BBC Sport.

During Rangers’ successful periods last season, Kent played a huge part in that as he walked away with a number of individual awards during the season.

Speaking to Sky Sports News (29/07/2019 at 6:35 pm), Tavernier made it clear that whilst Kent would be welcomed back by the club, they have the players in their squad to produce the goods without him.

“He would be a great addition to the squad,” Tavernier told Sky Sports News. “We know what Ryan is about. He’s a great lad. He’s a top footballer on the pitch. You saw what awards he collected at the end of the season, which were deserved.

“If he doesn’t sign then we have really good players in his position. We have got a lot of players that could really do a job for us. It’s down to the people above us to see what happens.”

If Rangers can secure the services of Kent then it would increase their chances of winning the Scottish Premiership next season.

But Steven Gerrard has bulked up his squad over the summer, especially out wide, with Kent’s Liverpool teammate Sheyi Ojo making a loan switch to Ibrox

If the versatile attacker can have the same impact as Kent did then Rangers fans will be in for a treat and perhaps in with a chance of lifting some silverware.
