Rangers manager Mark Warburton and defender James Tavernier have both told the club’s official website that their draw with Ross County was their best performance this season.
The Gers hosted Jim McIntyre’s side at Ibrox on Saturday looking to bounce back from last weekend’s humiliating 5-1 loss to rivals Celtic in the Old Firm derby.
It proved to be a highly frustrating afternoon for them though as a resolute County defence kept Rangers at bay to secure a 0-0 draw and a vital point.

That result would suggest that the home side did not play very well but Warburton insisted afterwards it was their best performance yet.
“That was the best performance of the season so far, we had good energy, good tempo, good intensity and second half was wave after wave,” he told the club’s official website.
“I am pleased with that and pleased with many aspects of our performance but of course we’re never pleased about dropping two points at home.”
Tavernier echoed those comments, adding that he felt their overall performance was a major positive for them.
“Sometimes you need a bit of luck, but we need to try and take the positives and move on to Tuesday,” he added.
“A positive from today was that was the best we’ve played this season. It was just one of those days where it didn’t go right for us.”

The result now leaves Rangers fourth in the table with just nine points from their first six games.
That is a disappointing return for Warburton’s side, to say the least, especially given they were harbouring dreams of a title challenge this season.
They are currently three points behind leaders Celtic but that gap could be increased to nine should Brendan Rodgers side win both of their games in hand.
Indeed, Rangers are likely to need to go on a winning run to catch their rivals, even at this early stage, starting with Aberdeen in their next league game.
