
Everton attacking midfielder James Rodriguez has posted a photo of himself on Twitter.
The former Real Madrid star, who can also operate as a winger, has added a couple of emojis to his post which suggest that he may be fit to play for Everton this weekend.
The Toffees will take on Southampton away from home at St. Mary’s Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has told Sky Sports that James sustained bruising in a challenge with Liverpool central defender Virgil van Dijk in the Merseyside derby last weekend.
The Italian tactician has added that the 29-year-old is “not definitely out” of the match against the Saints and could still feature in the match.
Potential big boost for Everton
James has been superb for Everton this season since his move from Madrid in the summer transfer window.
The Toffees are a better team with the 29-year-old in it, and if he plays against the Saints, even as a substitute, then it will enhance their chances of picking up all three points from the encounter.
According to WhoScored, James has scored three goals and provided three assists in five Premier League matches for Everton so far this season.
