Everton defender Yerry Mina has confirmed he is ready for the return to Premier League football after a string of injuries with a post on Instagram – prompting reaction from James Rodriguez, Yannick Bolasie and Andros Townsend.

Mina, 28, has endured an injury-plagued time at Everton. Joining the club from Barcelona after the World Cup in Russia in 2018, he has managed just 93 appearances in more than four years for the Toffees. But he is back and ready to go.

The Colombia defender picked up an injury during the opening game of the season, lasting just 70 minutes during a 1-0 loss to Frank Lampard’s old side Chelsea. He had been sidelined for the entirety of the first half of the campaign.

That is, until he started for Everton in the 4-1 loss to Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup. He was then an unused sub in the League loss to Bournemouth, a few days later. But, he is available and ready to go, posting a message on Insta.

He told fans that he remains defiant, and is fit to feature against Wolves on Boxing Day. His post is translated as saying: “Strong as a rock, unbreakable as a diamond and one piece inside. Beautiful and beautiful stages are yet to come.”

So, does Mina come in to the side when they take on Wolves. Quite possibly. Conor Coady remains on loan from Wolves and will be unavailable for selection. The ex-Wolves skipper will not be allowed to play against his parent club.

It means Mina could partner James Tarkowski in the middle of the defence. Mason Holgate and Ben Godfrey will also be hoping to feature for the Toffees, in place of Coady. Rodriguez, Bolasie, Townsend and others responded.
