The Reds are top of the Premier League table but Pep Guardiola’s charges have a game in hand.

Liverpool ace James Milner has given his thoughts on Wednesday’s Premier League encounter between Manchester United and Manchester City.
The Reds are involved in a titanic tussle with Pep Guardiola’s side for the title and returned to the top of the standings following their 2-0 win at Cardiff City on Sunday.
Man City have a game in hand on Liverpool and, should they defeat their city rivals at Old Trafford, they will once again leapfrog Jurgen Klopp’s side at the summit.
Having come through the ranks at Leeds United and having turned out for Man City, Milner’s CV contains a number of teams who consider Man United to be big rivals.
However, the 33-year-old admits that for the “first time” in his life, he will be rooting for the Red Devils, given the role they could play in Liverpool’s title hopes.
Nonetheless, Milner has made an honest admission in that he stressed he will not be watching the game, describing it as a “waste of energy” and planning instead to keep his mind off it.

“First time in my life,” the £13.5million-valued player said – as quoted by Sky Sports News – about his support for United this week.
“But I won’t be watching. It’s a bit of a waste of energy, willing the ball in the other goal. I can’t do anything about it. I’ll maybe put my phone away for a few hours and check it after. I’ve no idea what I’ll do, maybe go out for some food.”
Liverpool have three Premier League fixtures left – at home against Huddersfield Town this Friday, away at Newcastle United on Saturday 4 May, and at home against Wolverhampton Wanderers on the final day of the campaign.
