Liverpool have brought in a new left back this summer – and it means James Milner is unlikely to feature there again.

The Reds saw Andrew Robertson continue his outstanding Liverpool career with another strong season last term, but Jurgen Klopp wasn’t resting on his laurels.

Instead, Liverpool have added another left back, signing Kostas Tsimikas from Olympiacos in a deal worth £11.75million.

The 24-year-old starred in Greece last term, notching seven assists in all competitions as he thrived playing as an attack-minded left back.

Tsimikas will only be backup to Robertson barring a shock turn of events, and his arrival means that Milner may not play there again.

The veteran has been pressed into action in that role under Klopp, but Tsimikas can now slot in should Robertson miss out for some reason.

Today, Milner posted a photo on Twitter of both Robertson and Tsimikas in action against him in training.

Milner joked that they were ‘ganging up’ on him, and suggested that his left back membership is now up for review because of Tsimikas signing.
