Liverpool defender James Milner has told BBC Sport that they will leave it to others to discuss how far they can go this season.

The Reds were in fine form once again on Saturday afternoon as they beat Hull City at Anfield.

Goals from James Milner (2 penalties), Philippe Coutinho, Sadio Mane and Adam Lallana saw them record a comfortable 5-1 victory.

It was another comprehensive attacking performance from Jurgen Klopp’s team, who are now the second highest goalscorers in the Premier League.

They are currently the bookmakers’ second favourites for the title behind leaders Manchester City but Milner says they are not discussing how far they can go.

“We’ll leave it for others to discuss where this team can go,” he told BBC Sport.

“The more we play together the better we’ll get it. There’s talent all over the field and we work for each other. You know if you don’t perform there is someone pushing to get your shirt.”

Liverpool would certainly be wise to not get ahead of themselves at this early stage of the campaign.

Manchester United had the same amount of points after six games last season and were just two points behind leaders Manchester City, but ended the campaign in fifth and 18 points behind eventual champions Leicester City.

A fifth placed finish would actually be a disappointment for Klopp’s side at this moment in time and they must focus to ensure they do not fall away as United did.
