Dean Smith guided Aston Villa back to the Premier League on Monday afternoon at Wembley.

Liverpool midfielder James Milner and ex-striker Dion Dublin lauded Aston Villa on Twitter after they beat Derby on Monday to book their place in the Premier League for next season.
Dean Smith’s side went into the encounter knowing that they could have ended the hurt of last season when they were beaten in the play-off finals to Fulham. They did just that on the day, with Anwar El Ghazi and John McGinn getting on the scoresheet.
After the game, Liverpool’s Milner and the now-retired Dublin, both of whom enjoyed successful seasons at Villa Park, sent these messages on their personal Twitter accounts:
It will be a day to remember for those associated with Claret & Blue this season because their initial road to Wembley and now the Premier League has been a dramatic one.
After that defeat to Fulham last season, Villa were in financial turmoil only to be saved by two billionaire investors in Wes Edens and Nawais Sawaris.

Steve Bruce was then sacked in October as Villa struggled to prove their worth in the league, with boyhood Villa fan Smith given the job.
After a bright start, Villa struggled over the winter months and their season looked down and out towards the end of February, but the return of Jack Grealish resulted in his team going on a 10-game winning run and, as a result, booking their place in the play-off places and now the Premier League.
The Midland giants have now ended their three-year absence from England’s top-flight and they will be locking horns with the best of the best from the Premier League.
