Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers chairman Dave King recently made some bold comments.

Rangers chairman Dave King made some rather bold comments recently. As reported by The Daily Record, the Ibrox club’s chief claimed that Steven Gerrard’s side are “within tangible reach” of becoming the top side in Scotland.

King also said, as quoted on Rangers’ official website, that the Glasgow giants will make signings in the summer transfer window and will back manager Gerrard with funds.

Celtic are set to win the Scottish Premiership title this season, and Rangers do need to enhance the quality of their squad in order to give their bitter Old Firm rivals a run for their money.

The Bhoys have the best squad in Scotland and have run away with the league title yet again this season, and it is hard to see how Rangers are “within tangible reach” of becoming the top team in the country.

Chairman of Rangers, Dave King looks on during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premier League between Celtic and at Ibrox Stadium on December 29, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Scotland assistant manager James McFadden has given his take on King’s comments, suggesting that the Rangers chairman wants to excite the fans for the 2019-20 campaign.

McFadden said on Sky Sports Football (11:36am, April 20, 2019): “I think Dave King’s trying to sell season tickets and he has got to excite the fans.”
