Rangers travel to Pittodrie on Wednesday night to take on Derek McInnes’ side.

James McFadden has told Sky Sports that Rangers need to start Alfredo Morelos against Aberdeen on Wednesday night if they are to claim three vital points in the Scottish Premiership title race.
Rangers sit in second place and just two points above third-placed Aberdeen, while Celtic are six clear of Steven Gerrard’s side at the top of the Scottish Premiership table after 24 matches.
The Gers will be looking to build on two consecutive league wins over Livingston and St. Mirren with a victory over the Dons, while also hoping that Hibernian can get something out of their clash against Celtic.
Scotland assistant manager McFadden told Sky Sports that he believes Colombia international Morelos has to start, as Gerrard continues to work out what is the best way to combine the tenacious striker with Jermain Defoe.
“The conundrum with Morelos is that when he’s on the pitch, he’s a huge asset,” McFadden said. “He occupies defences, he works hard, he holds play up, he brings his teammates into play and he scores goals.
“He gets chances and for Rangers to have a chance of winning the game he needs to stay on the pitch. A lot has been said about discipline. He’s a young player and he does need to learn. I know what it’s like when it’s hard to keep discipline.
“If they can keep him on the pitch, then he’s a huge asset.”

Morelos has been in sensational form this season, scoring 21 goals in 37 league and cup appearances for Rangers this season. He has also created 10 goals in assists.
The former HJK Helsinki striker was reportedly a target for both OGC Nice and Galatasaray in the January transfer window, according to the Daily Record and Fotospor respectively, but Gerrard has kept him at Ibrox. He is likely to feature on Wednesday.
