Celtic travel to France ahead of their Champions League clash against PSG on Wednesday.
James McFadden has told the Sunday Post that he believes Celtic can pull off the unthinkable and avoid defeat in France as they go up against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night.
The Hoops are looking to qualify for the Europa League from Group B of the Champions League, and currently sit in third place with the chance to do just that by keeping Anderlecht at bay in their remaining two fixtures.
Brendan Rodgers and the rest of his squad travel to France ahead of Wednesday night’s clash at the Parc des Princes, as they look to exact revenge on Unai Emery’s side following their defeat in Glasgow to the likes of Neymar and co.
Former Scotland international McFadden believes Celtic are capable of upsetting the odds, and claimed three Celtic stars have the ability to produce something spectacular in Leigh Griffiths, Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair.
“Just think back to five months ago, when Leigh Griffiths scored two wonder goals against England for Scotland at Hampden Park,” McFadden said. “Does he have that in his locker to do it in Paris in midweek? Absolutely, he does.
“Would Moussa Dembele love to score the winning goal in Paris in his home country? Nothing would give him greater pleasure, I’m sure.
“We all know what he is capable of, but doing something out of the top drawer on Wednesday night would take him – and his market value – to a different level. Then you have Scott Sinclair. He is a special player and he has it all to go and be a hero in this game.
“I hope Celtic win the game. I really do.”
Celtic currently sit on three points in third place, with Anderlecht yet to earn a point after the Hoops beat the Belgian champions in their own back yard.
Avoiding defeat would further strengthen Celtic’s chances of Europa League qualification, but PSG will be considered as one of the toughest tests in Rodgers’ spell as manager of the Bhoys.
